Farming of
Macadamia Nuts & Tea Tree Oil
Rainbow Moon has been involved with commercial farming of Macadamia Nuts and Tea Tree oil for the last 9 years.
Two of its entrepreneurial founders got involved with farming purely as a business venture, with limited farming history.
Lessons learnt in business and farming have molded a very different and unique approach to traditional commercial farming strategies enabling the ability to open up opportunities.

Approached by the Department of Agriculture to explore the possibility of being a pilot project for Cannabis and Hemp cultivation in our area.
2 small pilot project of 500 Cannabis plants each in 2020 under a permit issued by the Cannabis Development Council (CDC) using existing nursery infrastructure used for Macadamia and Tea Tree seedling cultivation.

South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA)
The licensing process started early in 2021 while the facility was being built in accordance with SAHPRA regulations and all documented procedures were developed in line with SAHPRA guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).
This resulted in standard operating procedures, quality control and safety policy manual and a site master file being approved documents in line with our licensing conditions to ensure our facility met the necessary standards required for international markets.
After large investment and time involved with getting the facility licensed, we received our complete Cannabis license in May 2023.
EXTENSIVE TESTING & PILOTING HAS BEEN CONDUCTED...
